After the successful first tournament (2050 EUR were donated), we continued with our goal to make the Jürgen Wagner charity football tournament an annual fixed event. The first planning meetings had already been arranged for January and the date of the 2nd Jürgen Wagner charity football tournament was set for 31 October 2015.
It should be noted that the team Athletico Universidad from Newcastle, England (they played as Vienna Old Boys in the first tournament), assured their participation immediately after the end of the first tournament in 2014. As a result, they were the first to know about the scheduled date.
Another objective for 2015 was to increase the number of participants, which we were able to achieve through joint communication and the creation of a permanent Facebook group. 14 teams were registered for the 2nd Jürgen Wagner charity football tournament.
Old acquaintances, new faces, again three honorary referees and about 210 spectators took part in the 2015 tournament. Organisation-wise, we used simple but reliable flipcharts, whiteboards, eddings and Tipp-ex.
It was played in two groups of 7, which were drawn (as in 2014) before the start of the tournament. 6 group matches and the play-off mode resulted in long matches, which took their toll on the teams and referees. The final of the 2nd Jürgen Wagner charity football tournament was then held between Wödchefs and FC KAOS. In a heated and for a voluntary referee difficult game, the Wödschefs prevailed and were crowned for the second time in a row as the winner of the 2nd Jürgen Wagner charity football tournament.
The award ceremony and subsequent celebration again took place in the local U. S. W. pub with burgers and beer in friendly atmosphere.
